This is my third time staying at Zopilote, and I always love coming back.
It’s much more than a hostel — it’s a beautiful permaculture community where you can connect with nature, meet people and enjoy lots of different activities.
There are activities for everyone: salsa and bachata, yoga, breathwork, open mics, temazcal, cacao ceremonies, women’s circles, circus and even free tours around the finca.
The most popular activity is Pizza Nights on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with delicious wood-fired pizza and a fire show and live music 🍕🔥
keep in mind that Zopilote is a permaculture farm, so it’s a rustic experience.
There are compost toilets, and it’s a good idea to bring a flashlight for walking around the finca at night. Living in the jungle is for me the best thing about being in Ometepe!

Everything about Zopilote was incredible from top to bottom. The owner created a truly magical oasis on an already tropical paradise of an island!
They've perfected it, the only thing I would change is the weather and that's in God's hands, not theirs

such a wonderland in every way! the hostel is within a beautiful tropical permaculture jungle and there are so many edible plants and fruit trees surrounding you! the restaurant is INCREDIBLE, all such healthy and truly delicious food (mostly made from what they grow on the property), the daily yoga and activities are phenomenal, there’s so many beautiful butterflies and howler monkeys and cute squirrels everywhere, the people this place attracts are just amazing, the staff are so lovely and helpful - i loved everything about this place.

Yoga was 10/10 with Elsa.
There were no fans in the rooms which made sleeping very very uncomfortable due to the heat and lack of ventilation in the room. There were also a lot of black ants throughout the room which ended up in the beds.
