Absolutely fabulous location. We walked into Lucca twice a day on most days, through the nearby underpass. The owners were so lovely and helpful with lots of information about Lucca. The apartment has everything we needed and felt very homey and comfortable once we were inside at the end of a day exploring. The air conditioning was an essential for us! Parking was right outside the door. Terrific little apartment.

The apartment is behind a larger building with construction / renovation work going on most days. It felt odd coming onto a building site to access the apartment and parking next to workers’ vans. The heated towel rail seemed to be on a timer and we couldn’t turn it off so the bathroom was very hot at odd times. We didn’t need the extra heat! Phew. Otherwise excellent!

Lovely single storey house with private parking. All the facilities needed for a long stay. Very clean. Irene and Massimo, the owners were very helpful, lovely, and freely available.

Nothing, it was perfect

I struggle writing this review. We booked this 8 months ago as part of a 5week trip to Italy. The accomodation itself is fabulous, clean and every amenity needed for a week long stay. We chose this rental because it had private parking for our vehicle and the location is perfect, an easy 5 minute walk to the wall. Communication with the owners was very easy (they were away, but the son handled everything). However......

This is my struggle. Two days prior to our arrival we received the usual communication that included telling us there was construction close by but not their accomodation. Well, the construction is a MAJOR renovation of an old Lucca home being converted to a four plex. Their accomodation is situated directly behind the building on the same property, less than 20 feet away. We had to enter through a construction gate, there is a crane on the property, a small excavator that parked beside our car as well as a multitude ie (10 vehicles) daily. You are in a construction zone. We could not use the patio out back due to the noise. We feel incredibly deceived!!! The photos on booking.com showing their driveway entrance are completely inaccurate and should be removed until construction is completed. All construction workers were very polite and would move vehicles when asked. When this unfortunate construction is complete, this will ba a great accomodation as it has a lot going for it. However, this was a part of our vacation, we should have been informed in advance so we could have made an informed decision on whether or not we would keep the booking (which was booked 8 months out), not informed 2 days prior when cancelling was not an option, and finding suitable accommodation unlikely. Again, a sad review and unfortunate for the owners as the accommodation itself has a lot going for it. However, this is our vacation! Yes, we are taking this up with Booking.com and probably should have contacted them immediately. However, who wants that hassle when you are on vacation. Sorry to have to write this. Again, when this is complete, it will be perfect, right now..... nope!
