Paradise Cave Hostel & Guesthouse

Located near town but quiet surroundings

Very small kitchen at 1st floor next to bedrooms. Two bathrooms are not allowed to use from 10pm to 8am

Location is good if you want to take the ferry to islands, or as a stopover. The room was good and the shared showers are fantastic. The staff treated us kindly.

There was some issue with noise during the night but it was resolved by staff.

Reception was a live person who showed you around. Fabulous staff Welcome cake and coffee much appreciated. Clean. Great guest kitchen. Comfortable room and bed

An hostel that was ok fore one night, beds where big enough, wifi was working as expected

As with everything in Iceland, it is absolutely overpriced for what you get. Basically, they set higher prices and then decrease them once the dates get closer, because tourists just don't book. It doesn't seem like a very clever way of doing things. The day before, we found a hotel with breakfast for the same price in Vik, meanwhile we were stuck in a shared bedroom hostel for the same price. So my advice is just to book the day before, because you will get much better deals. Besides this, for the price you pay, you are in the middle of nowhere, and the breakfast is just okay, more or less. I know it's Iceland, it's an amazing country, my main concern is the price you pay for what you get.
