stayed in real “ kampung “ with the family ! the host Jen + Bayu , brother Tomy / whole family are excellent !

Bayu and Jen are such lovely hosts. We contacted them before arrival and made sure everything was fine. They replied immediately and even allowed us to store some luggage at their place during a short trip of ours.
They offered us their best room, which had a brand new bathroom. The bed and the room itself also was very good and super clean!
As Bayu himself is a tour guide, he gave us tips how we could get to Gunung Talang, a nearby volcano, with public transport. When we had some trouble at the Ranger Post we called him and he resolved the issue for us so we could start climbing the volcano.
To sum it up, the two were the most friendly and helpful hosts we have encountered

Nice room for a very affordable price. The hosts were super nice and friendly, and helped us discover the Pandang-area. Thank you Padang Homestay!

I had a wonderful experience at the Padang Homestay.
The room was clean, very comfortable and located in a quiet neighborhood.
We also booked a tour with the Homestay and Bayu is an amazing guide! He’s so knowledgeable about the region and gave us an amazing experience.

I loved the location, you really get a sense of local life. It's a neighbourhood just outside the city (at best a $3 Gojek ride into the centre or cheaper if you take local transport) and there is a school. Food here is cheap, and everyone is so friendly asking if you're staying with Jenny and Bayu.
Wifi is fast. And Jen is fantastic for information from a foreigner perspective and Bayu is a guide and knows so much. Both are so friendly and accommodating. Because I love food they organized a cooking class with a woman around the corner and Jen came along to translate. We first went to the market, where everyone wanted to stop, chat, take selfies and then I was amazing at the cooking. Neighbours came by to chat and more selfies! This is really a special experience.
