We had heard great things about Cuenca and finally decided to visit. We found this property online and decided to book it. It did not disappoint us! It is right in the middle of the historic district surrounded by restaurants, small shops, and access to scenic views. It was nice to spend the morning sightseeing, return to the apartment for the siesta, then go back out in the afternoon. We traveled with a family of four, so our 11-year-old son slept on the sofa bed. He said it was the most comfortable sofa bed he had ever slept on. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The owner was not in town but arranged for someone to meet us. He also sent a message to check on us after our arrival. We would definitely return to Cuenca and rent here again if it is available!

We had some trouble with the WiFi. It worked when we first got there, but then it stopped. Since we were not using it much, we did not contact the owners about it, however.

central to town and easy access

The location is very good between the market place and the other side of the old town. Buses run from the train station (old and new) to the market square in old town. We have not been in the new lower town at all. There are several great restaurant options in the street and small convenient stores close by. The apartment itself is as the pictures show and very comfortable. The lady who met us at the door very friendly. English explanations are available inside and the Wifi is strong. We were more than happy with our experience and Cuenca is an amazingly beautiful town!

Some basics in the fridge for breakfast would be helpful as there are few shops in the old town.

The location is fantastic - 100m from Plaza Mayor and a lift to help with luggage. Spacious and very comfortable. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming taking care to ensure we we had everything we needed despite attending a family wedding on our arrival day!

It was really hot so if staying in the height of summer, know there are fans but no air con.

Quiet, very clean, great location about 70 meters uphill from Cathedral. Casa is your own 4 to 5 room multi level apartment with small hallway elevator. In USA it is considered to be on the 3rd floor but in Cuenca it is level 2. Fully equiped kitchen with stove, microwave, and refrigerator for when you get tired of restaurants. So very private. NICE Parking options: Parking garage about 75 meters uphill at Euro 19:50 for 24 hours for Casa guests. Go to ticket person for discount. OR drive uphill about 500 meters past wall gate for street parking (usually full) or further up to big FREE parking lot. NOTE small open air parking areas in walled area of village is resident parking only. Maybe drop off luggage first. Then drive to free parking lot. When leaving get the car and then load luggage at the Casa location. For a 2 night stay I saved 40 Euro.

Everything about Casa San Nicolas was wonderful. The views are great, the bed is super comfortable, the sofas are excellent, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The apartment is in walking distance from everything. Take the #1 bus from Plaza Mayor if you need to get to the supermarket. Take a left out of the building a walk into the landscape. It's phenomenal. Rómulo and Veronica were really friendly and helpful. The apartment is well heated and quiet.

Location was fantastic. In the Old City with easy walks to all we wanted to do. Great restaurants nearby. Very comfortable beds and lots of space and comfortable furnishings. Appointed like a nice home, not a rental. Provided coffee and nice little touches like oil and vinegar, candies.

Not sure there was anything that could be done to improve it but Wi-Fi was very slow-a challenge to download, stream or send emails. For those who must have reliable Wi-Fi during their stay may be a challenge. But we got by using cellular and slow Wi-Fi for what we needed to do. So for us this was a minor inconvenience far outweighed by all the other wonderful characteristics of the apartment.
