The property is everything it claims to be. A real step back into an iconic NZ time. So quiet. So relaxing. Really enjoyed our stay. Lighting the fire in the old range was lovely and made the place cosy. Drive in is interesting with step gorges.
You have to same something negative so people know it’s a real review. Had trouble starting fire (yes a townie) until I found the stash of kindling. After that no issues.

Such a lovely unit in rural New Zealand! Cozy and comfortable, and a unique stop on the way to Wellington. We loved how much thought and love had gone into decorating and restoring this historic property. The surrounding countryside is just beautiful - a welcome escape from the city.
We thought it was fantastic, but would make a suggestion to the hosts to perhaps include some plug in sensor night lights in the room and bathroom. It was very dark and hard to find light switches in the middle of the night!
The property is a little off the beaten track - you'll definitely need a car!

"Mi è sembrano di fare un tuffo nel passato. Allestito tutto come un tempo, dalla camera al bagno alla cucina, immerso nel verde di una farm. Veramente bello!"
