Nothing much, it was clean

First and foremost, an honest hotel for the Grand Prix. We had booked another hotel long in advance, which cancelled the week before the races and tried to extort more money. This is rife in Baku. We met so many people at the stands who were complaining about the same thing. Manor Luxury Hotel took us at short notice. Their price was reasonable for the Grand Prix weekend and we only paid once we were there. The real estate is new and beautiful. Our room was huge, with two desks, two sofas and a coffee table. The bed was super comfy and I managed to get 8+ hours on most nights.

The main compromise is the hotel's location. It is deep in a residential suburb, far from everything. Taxis in Baku are dirt cheap so we thought this would not be an issue and we'd just hail a ride everywhere, however, night traffic is brutal so we ended up getting taxis only to the nearest metro station (6-8 min by car but too far to walk along a busy road), then travelling to the centre by train. For an active, fairly young and very travel savvy couple, this was perfectly fine, but it may not be suitable for everyone. For our four nights in Manor Luxury Hotel, we didn't get our room cleaned once. It'd be nice to do it at least every couple of days if the hotel claims a 4-star service.
