Inn Sogdiana

Room was good, with comfortable beds and plenty of room to put baggage. Breakfast was included in the price and comprised fried egg, sausage and bread with cheese, butter and jam. Tea and coffee were available all day. The owner could be very helpful and arranged a shared taxi for us and some other guests to visit the 7 Lakes. The rooms are grouped around a pleasant courtyard where you can sit and chat to other travellers and compare notes.

On our first night we went out for dinner and arrived back at about 9:45 to find the outer door of the inn bolted from the inside so we couldn't get in. I tried to call the owner but just got a recorded message in a language I didn't understand, so we started banging on the door to be let in. Eventually he came and let us in, then proceeded to yell at us for staying out late drinking (it still wasn't 10 pm by this time, and we had had two drinks). It was quite disturbing, and something of a Jekyll and Hyde situation, as he had been very friendly during the day. As we were going out the following evening I checked with him what time the door was locked, and he said it was only locked after midnight. He seemed to have no recollection of the previous night's incident, which was very odd. En suite bathroom is very cramped and doesn't have a sink, just a toilet and a bath with a shower over. You get used to it, but it's a bit strange. Room doesn't have proper curtains so is very light - bring an eye mask if this might be a problem.

Die unterkunft war sauber, die betten gut, das badezimmer gut ausgestattet, es gab jedoch fast kein wasser!

Ägaren är fantastisk – mycket hjälpsam, vänlig och trevlig att prata med. Det är inget lyxhotell, men det är rent, fint och framför allt mycket prisvärt. Vi kände oss välkomna och hade en trevlig vistelse.

Bad directions to take us there, hard to find, taxi was upset he couldnt find it after a long time. Not a very pleasant neighborhood. All very old and not well taken care of. Bathroom tiny with toilet and shower, no sink, all rusty and moldy.
