B&b Candido Vacanze

I feel the photos don't do this B&B justice. The building is beautiful with traditional blonde stone and decorative corbels, doors shutters. I had a single room on the ground floor which was spacious, bright and airy. It could easily take a double bed. I loved that it had lovely old doors out into the street so I had my own access which I liked..Although it wasn't ensuite you have your own bathroom which is just through the wall. It's very private and I never saw anyone when I was coming and going The room and bathroom are immaculate - I couldn't see a spec of dust Ive added a picture of Jesus as it made me laugh - it looks like he's used a face tuning app and given his best sultry selfie for Tinder 🤣 (I am not being disrespectful as I'm also catholic) The host deserves a special mention as she was very accommodating when my drive to Modica took much longer than I expected, resulting in me arriving well after normal check in. She's warm, friendly and helpful. 🩷 I loved the beautiful traditional kitchen guests could use, so it was great to have a fridge. The best part about the B&B is its fantastic location, a stones throw from San Giovanni cathedral - this is my favourite spot - just sitting at the tables on the square at the foot of the cathedral steps. I'd highly recommend Bar Amore and the pizzeria on the square! Pizza is amazing.

There's a few tiny matters. The aircon cooled the room, but I like it blasting cold air, especially as it was 36 degrees. The mattress wasn't amazing but I think that's probably a personal choice whether you prefer a soft or firm mattress. The breakfast pics on Booking.com look like the breakfast items are laid out like a buffet for you to help yourself, but that's not the case. You get a drink- coffee/juice, some fruit - I got watermelon and a pastry. For the price, I was.happy with that,. A small fridge in the bedroom would've been ideal. I'd put cans of cola in the communal fridge only to have my last can disappear. The host couldn't have apologised more and gave me a replacement right away which was appreciated. Having your own fridge prevents that, and prevents the hesitation to go to the fridge with pjs on a not wanting to bump into another guest. These are all I significant issues/recommendations and didn't not affect my stay. The B&B is fantastic value for money. I hesitated booking it before and went somewhere twice the price. I decided to book it this time due to the location as I love Alta. I thought it would be like a hostel - but it's not. It's a beautiful traditional property that offers rooms at amazing value, that are clean and comfortable and a fantastic location. If I owned the B&B I'd add a double bed and add a new bedside table and dressing table and chairs, change the bedding to crisp white sheets, and change £40p/n that I'd happily pay. I liked it so much, I've booked to return. ,

Beautiful building, amazing location, traditional bright airy room with your own private entrance. The host was amazing- accomodating, friendly and welcoming

I'd prefer a double bed - the rooms big enough and I'd have liked my own fridge in the room. If I was very picky, I'd prefer plain crisp white bedding
