Loch Eyre House

It is nice and quiet with beautiful view. The lounge area is so nice to relax in and enjoy the view. We had a small patio as well but rainy so could not use it. Having a frig available to store some of our things was nice for packing a lunch for the next day.

We booked through a third party so breakfast was not included. We could have purchased for $15 each which seemed expensive. We got delicious coffee and pastries in Portree instead. There should be better signage at the property gate. It is very small and turned that you only see it once you have passed. An easy description of straight up the road and enter between the rock entry with a Erye House sign that is large and visible!

Quite. David and Lynn were perfect host. David was so nice to retrieve her phone while in Glasgow.

The room is not soundproofed, as stated in the advert. Every time the front door is opened, the door and the partition wall of the room shake. The breakfast room is right next to the room, meaning you can hear all the other guests’ conversations. The wall on the bedside is shared with the service area and is not soundproofed either. You can hear all the clatter of breakfast crockery being cleared away. Finally, the room opens directly onto the front door, so all the comings and goings of the other guests are clearly audible… Last but not least, the advert mentioned a view of the garden! In reality, the view is of the back of the house, where the staff park their cars! The price of this tranquillity ? 629.10 pounds for 3 nights or over 209 pounds a night … I spent two and a half weeks in the north of Scotland and this is the first time I’ve ever experienced anything like this!
