Big Fish Resort Koh Tao

We were fortunate to be placed in room 17 which was at the beachfront and also adjacent to the restaurant. The room had a double and single bed (the single made it feel quite compact but we managed easily) we had excellent air con, almost perfect WiFi, a kettle for morning coffee on a very pleasant deck right outside our door. Hot water was always available in the wet room. We were very comfortable all-round. The beach is quite clean. The water attracted snorkelling (which we didn’t do) and there are numerous little restaurants within a few minutes’ walk along the sand to your right.

A fridge would have been really nice to have as drinks get warm quickly. One negative is that in this room (17) the shower head faces you and is not adjustable so you have to awkwardly move to ‘catch’ the flow of the water. In the scheme of things, it was overall such a decent stay that we’d come back (to this room) One thing to note: I can’t be sure about other rooms placement and whether they would be quite as nice as ours. They ask for a 1000 baht deposit and check your room when you leave.

Furnished very poor - No rack, no hooks – absolutely nothing for luggage or for hanging anything up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Excellent family hotel, right next tithe beach, dive shops, restaurants and bars. The restaurants are more pricy sonwe walked to the local shops and Thai kitchens which were cheap and delicious. We used the taxis to get around. We found food and transport cheaper than in Koh Phangan. Hightly recommended for families

The beach and location. The resort is located on a nice, calm beach. Perfect for smaller kids. If you swim a bit out or go with paddleboard/kayak it is a good place to snorkle. 7eleven, restaurants, thai-massage is close. You can walk to John Suwan wiev-point and shark bay + fredom beach. Breakfast was with many choises - we recommend: the burger.

We had a booking from booking.com - 2 rooms for 3 people with breakfast = 6 people. When we arrived they would only give breakfast for 4 people. We contacted booking.com, who confirmed, that the whole group should have breakfast. The resort refused to give us the breakfast. So expect, that maybe, you will not get what you payed for, even if you think you have a nice deal on booking.com. Many scooters/cars drive really fast on the road.
