It was an excellent spot to stay in Kyoto, near the central train station and opposite of a beautiful temple. Very clean, very cozy and the staff very helpful and kind. Totally recommend!

My husband and I really liked the location of the hotel. It is very accessible from the main Kyoto station and Gojo station and there are fantastic coffee shops close by. On entering, the hotel has a lovely atmosphere and is presented nicely.The staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed how spacious the rooms were and a hairdryer was provided.

We thought the interior of the rooms was dated and clearly needed refreshing as there were visible marks on the walls and floors. The bed was very uncomfortable, the pillows were particularly bad, the main blanket was very thick and we became very sweaty without the airconditioning on. We were unable to stream through the tv provided from our smart phones - which would have been nice to relax in the evening. The room was very hot and the only way to cool it down was to sleep with the noisy air conditioner on. The breakfast buffet sounded really lovely online but didn't meet expectations. Breakfast started at 7am-10am, however, when arriving at 8:30am many of the main buffet items were empty, items like drinking glasses were often not refilled quick enough for the guests arriving. I wouldn't pay for breakfast but go to one of the local cafes nearby.
