Summer Island Maldives

We had a wonderful family stay at Summer Island Maldives and especially enjoyed the excellent quality of the food. Everything was fresh and delicious, with plenty of choice every day. A particular favorite of ours was the freshly prepared veggie omelette with cheese at breakfast! The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They really went out of their way to prepare something our two-year-old daughter would enjoy whenever there was nothing suitable for her on the otherwise very varied buffet. She absolutely loved the French fries – and, of course, the chocolate ice cream from the bar! A very special thank you goes to „Tof Ail“, who took wonderful care of us during breakfast and dinner. He seemed to know exactly what we – and especially our daughter – wanted before we even had to ask. His warm and attentive service made our meals particularly enjoyable and was one of the highlights of our stay. Our room was very clean, and both arrival and departure were extremely well organized and professional. The island itself is beautifully maintained. A big compliment to the hardworking gardening team, who do an outstanding job keeping the entire island looking so beautiful. Another highlight is that the resort offers two complimentary snorkeling trips every day. These can understandably be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and sea conditions. However, even without joining an excursion, the small coral reefs within the resort’s own lagoon provide a wonderful snorkeling experience with plenty to see. Snorkeling and diving equipment can also be rented, although we found the rental prices quite expensive.

The main downside for us was the pricing outside the buffet. We stayed on a half-board basis, and almost everything beyond the included breakfast and dinner comes at an additional charge, often at what we felt were very high prices. On the positive side, fresh drinking water was always available free of charge, which we really appreciated. One small disappointment: Germans do love their freshly tapped beer 😊, but unfortunately the draft beer was temporarily unavailable during our stay due to maintenance work.

I loved every second I spent there. And shoutout to Shri Vinod Singh from Uttarakhand who makes the best sandwiches.

Assisted and guided snorkeling trips should be provided.

The resort is a very peaceful retreat. It is nicely laid out, very romantic with beautiful views.

At checkout the reception was struggling to come up with a final bill that was reflecting my actual spending. Things were triple charged. Finally we managed to sort it out, but I really had to review every item. Also, it was not mentioned that water is free of charge at the bars.

Good place and good staff working, but management need to be changed… stayed there 3 years ago was much more better
