Tabist Kyogura Kyoto Nijo

Of all the time I've been to Japan, this is the first time I got such a spacious room. The hotel is right next to the Nijo JR station, so if you have JR Rail Pass, this is the jackpot - I barely spend any money to travel to Kyoto Station, Uji, Nara, Kobe or Osaka. It looks like a residence building than a hotel, and this is exactly what I need. I feel like I am living in Kyoto instead of being a pure visitor. BIVI shopping complex nearby offers almost everything you'd need for a Japan tour with civilian prices: food, milk tea, unique gifts (with tax-free too, at the bookstore), clothes. There is also Takagi supermarket for affordable eating and observing local life. I can also walk out to Sanjo Shopping Street (just 5 mins of walking), buy medicine at Sugi Drug (open until 11pm) or Dacs (open until 12am) or have a quick meal at Nakau (open until 3am).

Nothing. I really have nothing to complain about. The price is too good for the value it brings! I was a little concerned at first because this is an unmanned hotel (you do everything by yourself) but the instructions are incredibly clear and detailed. I even have contacts of nearby hospital or what to do if I'm sick!

The electronic check in was fairly easy but I don't like this system I prefer a front desk

The property is very well maintained, the staff are exceptional and hard working, very polite and helpful at all times. The property is close to the station and convenience stores. It is extremely clean and comfortable!

The rooms had mosquitoes so we were bitten. Small window was not clean, had a lot of dust.
