Great location, within walking distance of many amenities. The staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to cater to any needs or concerns. Which there was just lack of any concern. The beds were comfy and the breaky was quite satisfying. It's a place that makes you wanna return for a whole season

Great location, great staff very friendly and really helpful. The shuttle to all the resorts made everything super easy too. They recommended heaps of places to try and made our stay as good as possible.

Group of nine friends were all able to stay here very comfortably, the lodge was very clean, loved the common room which had multiple games including video game. Coen and Jayden were very lovely and accommodating for us all! breakfast very morning was also great !

Toast, eggs and cereal for breakfast. Pots & pans were available to cook for yourself.

I did not expect to do so much walking to get around, but that is just me being a little nitpicky.

The staff and location of Stargell Lodge make it the best place to stay for a holiday in Hakuba. The lodge itself is in a fantastic location and offers food, drinks and bus shuttles just a short walk away. The quiet room is always filled with snowboarding or skiing videos for inspiration as well as chilled music for you to enjoy a coffee or bowl of cornflakes. The 6-bed dorm was spacious and always filled with considerate, like-minded individuals looking to enjoy the surrounds. The staff at the lodge create an extended-family feeling for guests, offering suggestions for activities and not-so-obvious runs for the adventurous. Cleaning is a priority for the staff so each morning there is a big clean of the lodge which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!

one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The staff are super helpful with recommendations regarding where to snowboard and where to get the best food. would recommend to everyone to go and stay there for sure

Great friendly staff, it was a very comfortable and welcoming environment! Also it was a good range of people staying there. Great bathrooms, the showers were spacious and very clean.

The thing I liked most was our hosts, words can not describe how welcomed we felt, it felt like we were staying with friends, everything from in my opinion was great advice on lift tickets to inside knowledge on each resort, also the fact u can wax ur board or skis which was a bonus, the team at Starfall made sure we got the most out of our experiences and also made sure everyone was comfortable weather ur a family or a group of friends they meet everybody’s needs, not to mention that we were always fed in the morning, toilet and showers were excellent and always clean and I would most definitely come back, also I should mention how close we were to Happo one bus terminal and ski resort, not to mention that Echoland and Hakuba base camp weren’t to much further. I just wana say a big thanks to Coen, Jaidon, Kate, Lloyd, and Chelsea, we could not have had the experience we had without all u guys, we felt blessed because of y’all, thank you so much 😊

this hostel style lodge had the most friendly personnel which made our stay in Hakuba run smoothly. they picked us up at the train station and drove us to the mountain (which we chose) each morning for 500 yen per person. they helped us and organized rentals. the lodge has everything you need for a stay in Hakuba. I would say to be aware that it is a hostel feeling and shared bathrooms etc so if this is not your thing, just be aware. they have a convenient dry room for ski gear. it is located in walking distance from restaurants and onsen. thank you for a great stay!

Staff, respect, conversation, everything. Bathrooms were warm and clean, people were open and respectable, just fantastic.

This is a walkable town with plenty of good restaurants and shops. English speaking in most of the places. Directly across from an onsen, bakery and food market down the street. You have your own section in the fridge and shelves and you can cook in their huge kitchen or eat out! Breakfast is simple and will get you on your way. Shuttles run around town constantly and there I one direct train from Tokyo so you don’t have to change and take buses. The owners are warm and knowledgeable about the area. They are sharing their sustainable low footprint lodge, be ready to compost and recycle too:). The rooms are named after constellations with bathrooms on the main floor of the two level building. Fully gutted and remodeled by the owners; a gem as it continues to grow! Views of maountains on all sides and rooms. The main common room hosts a large dining table, comfy couches and projector for movies and Netflix. Looking forward to going back.

Too far from return shuttles from resorts, better to organise return day trips.
