Galle Camellia

We had a wonderful 2 night stay, the host was lovely, bringing us fresh coconut milk when we arrived and fresh water. The rooms are spacious and clean, really good value. It was like having your own private villa. The location was great, wild monkeys run through the trees and over nearby properties which is amazing to watch also keep an eye out for the wild peacocks. When we return to Sri Lanka we will definitely stay here again 👍

There wasn't anything not to like , we loved it !

Lovely accommodation in Galle, lots of wildlife (chipmunks, peacocks, a family of monkeys!), and supermarkets and a fruit market just up the road. I stayed here as a medical student while doing my medical elective at Galle National Hospital, which is a 20-25 minute walk away. My room was lovely, it had AC, a double bed with a mosquito net, desk and chair, mini fridge and a small balcony! There is a water dispenser for drinking water in the reception area as well. The hospitality at Galle Camellia is unmatched. The host, Garmini, was incredibly kind and helpful, and gave me his WhatsApp number so I could contact him if I needed anything. You can ask for breakfast/dinner for a small charge - they cook incredible food, and I was often given dinner for free, with small desserts as well!

It’s a little off the beaten path, but very easy to get to Galle Central Bus station (next to Galle Fort) with the bus or a taxi. The only thing that could be improved would be the cleaning of the surfaces/the floor in the room, I wiped these down when I arrived, but the bedsheets and towels were all fresh.
