The property is a stone’s throw away from a beautiful lake. It is tastefully decorated and feels like a home away from home.
Sally, our host, was attentive and super thoughtful. On one of the days, we fell ill and she specially cooked a pot of nourishing soup for us.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood right across the street from the park at the South end of the lake. Friendly welcome and very reliable host. Very good homely breakfast! Will stay here again if I come back to Hangzhou.

The host, Sally, is the best. She goes out of her way to make my family comfortable. When my daughter insists on a specific pancake for breakfast, she ordered it for her and she made special breakfast for every single one of my extended family.
The facility is spotless and tastefully renovated. The location is perfect, only 10 minutes walk from the lake. We had the best time staying at the place.

The location is also very good very quiet ,there are many restaurants and tea house around ., across the road is the park and very close to the west lake .we enjoyed it very much.

It is called the "cozy house" for a reason, well designed with exceptional warm feel and interior design rather in Japanese style. Staff speaks good English and is very welcoming to foreigners. Location right in the middle of the West Lake scenic area.

I loved my little nature getaway to Rock&Wood! The location was perfect for me (close to the start of relatively quiet and peaceful hiking trails, walkable to Starbucks and West Lake, but far away enough from West Lake to avoid the HUGE amounts of people). Sally, the host, was so welcoming and helpful- helping me to navigate when my driver couldn't find the place, offering lots of suggestions and tips, and even helping me when I left my boots behind. It's a homestay style, so breakfast was family style with other guests. It was delicious and filling.

Sally is a fantastic host and her place is magnificient and comfortable. Very special experience. Not possible not to come back the next time we're in HZ.

It is amazing - if you are looking for a nice place on west lake with a great location and an amazing local host, this is the place to go!

The room and shared areas were clean and comfortable. The host, Sally, was welcoming and present, ready to help answer any questions or give recommendations of places to visit in the area. The breakfast was healthy, tasty and plentiful, including coffee. Fruits, other snacks and water were offered throughout the day.

Sally and her team made us like feeling at home. They organized everything for us we asked for and there was always a cup of coffee, fresh fruits and self baked cookies waiting for us. The Westlake is really beautiful especially on this side of the lake and we walked up with hearing nothing but birds singing outside. For the three of us this was a very cozy place!

Rock&Wood Cozy House is one of the best guesthouses I've ever stayed. Sally and the staff do an amazing job of catering to your every need, always making themselves available and go above and beyond in every way. The place is extremely well kept, clean, and very inviting. The location is excellent for exploring West Lake and the surrounding temples and pagodas. There are restaurants nearby for dining as well. The breakfast is extraordinary and they will provide more if you ask. There is fruit, tea, and other snacks available at no charge. Overall it is an amazing guesthouse and somewhere I'll definitely return.

We loved the place.It was a great escape from the hustle of the city.The area is beautiful and peaceful with a nice coffee shop nearby .The staff is very pleasant and the room is very homelike with lots of small features which I appreciated .I’d recommend you to stay there ;)
