- The staff were phenomenal and really made our stay stand out. There was a person on-site to help us check in and orient us to the property. This person also clearly communicated when staff who spoke English wouldn't be available due to the national independence day. There was always staff on site to answer questions. - The night walk and follow up experiences with Leo were stand outs as well. The property offers free night walks in their on-site garden to spot frogs and other wild life. Leo is knowledgable, friendly, and great at helping to capture pictures. After we did the night walk with him, he went out of his way to alert us to other frogs that he spotted in the garden and continue educating us about the local fauna. - While we only utilized the on-site pool once, it is was well-maintained and a nice feature - The set up of the property is great! Each guest gets their own guest house with a covered parking area. While the inside is small, the space is well utilized. Note that the king beds aren't enclosed in rooms except for one. The others are in various open concept rooms in the space. We appreciated that the kitchen is fully equipped in the guest house for individuals who may want to cook meals. The indoor and outdoor spaces are clean and meticulously maintained. It is clear the staff care about providing great spaces to their guests!

It was an amazing stay for the price we paid! The owner and his wife were so accommodating, and the staff even came by to let us know when the volcano was no longer in the clouds so we could see it! Plus we got a complimentary tour of the garden to see frogs and we saw all the frogs! Also every morning there were monkeys and toucans in the trees and the owner would set up a telescope for guests to views them up close!

The only issue at all was the wifi was a little sporadic at times, but hey, we’re out in the middle of the jungle so … manageable expectations helped!

Leonardo, the manager, is one of the kindest people we've ever met. He went above and beyond to make everything possible that we asked for or wished for. Whether it was letting us leave our luggage at the reception early or arranging an early check-in, he was always incredibly helpful and accommodating. He also gave us great tips on when and where to go, which helped us make the most of our stay. His frog night walk is truly one of a kind. We saw many different species, and Leonardo told us so much about all the animals we encountered—not just the frogs. It was a fantastic experience. The breakfast was always delicious. You can choose between a typical Costa Rican breakfast and pancakes, and everything was freshly prepared to order. Leonardo also made an effort to vary the fruits served alongside, which was a lovely touch. Our room was spacious, clean, and very well equipped. Everything worked perfectly, and housekeeping was always available when needed. The pool was also nice and clean. When we had a medical emergency during our stay, Leonardo went far beyond what we could have expected. He offered us his help, support, and complete flexibility and made a difficult situation much easier for us. Overall, we can hardly imagine having had a better stay in La Fortuna. Leonardo's kindness, hospitality, and willingness to help truly made our stay special. We would absolutely recommend this place and would be happy to come back!

Our room was so well decorated and the bed was massive. Host and Janet were very helpful and provided good advice on things to do at our next stop, how to access park tickets, best places to eat, etc. Lovely views from the bedroom. Breakfast was excellent,

Access road to the property not great. No fridge or tea and coffee making in the room, though drinks were provided whenever re requested a drink.
