Cameo Boutique Hotell

Ystad is a delightful little seaside walkable town. The Cameo Boutique Hotel is a gem hidden within the town’s lengthy pedestrian tourist street. Once you figure out parking, the rest is pure delight. The hotel has no attendant. You enter via a door code and pick up your metal key from a desk. The room I had featured decorative books and a delightful view. The overall decor is like an old English mansion. One could imagine a mystery movie being filmed there. I believe each room has its own flavor. I would love to return and try some of the other others.

Parking is a challenge. You have to find a spot either alongside a curb or in a nearby parking strip. In all cases, you are expected to pay a remote company for the spot. You’ll have to shlep any luggage along the cobblestone streets. Also, rooms are on the second floor, which is accessed by a winding staircase. During my stay, I was unable to find any kind of lift, so I left most of my luggage in the car and just carried up what I needed. The staircase is so cute that it’s actually part of the fun. However, these minor issues would in no way keep me from returning. I loved it and would return in a heartbeat.

Very nice hotel with a unique design and decor. The room was charming and very functional. The self check-in was smooth, and breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was very nice, with a good selection. The location is central, making it easy to walk to the town centre, restaurants, and shops.

The staff, location, individual touches at the property and the communication before and on arrival.

Breakfast in the cafe next door was adequate. It wasn’t the best for vegetarians/vegans.
