Ottima posizione nel piccolo borgo di Monsaraz, appena fuori dalle mura, panorama molto bello e quiete assoluta, disponibile la piscina in contesto caratteristico.

Colazione molto scarsa e turni da prenotare data la piccola dimensione della sala comune disponibile. Scomodo il tragitto dalla reception alle camere con i bagagli.

The view from the pool was exceptional, I don’t think we’ve ever had a better view while staying in a hotel. When you make your way to and from your room you are presented with the most incredible views and sunsets across the valley. The room was also very comfortable - the bed was large with a good mattress, the shower water pressure good with lots of hot water, and very peaceful at night. However the best thing about this hotel is the location - just a short walk from Monsaraz, which meant we could beat the coaches and have the town to ourselves every morning. The closest restaurant also serves the most incredible food.

I’d say the hotel generally needs a little TLC - the fake grass around the pool was loose and flapped about in the wind, and only two of the sunbeds were undamaged, all the others had missing wheels or broken mesh. The fridge in the room was empty - they could make a fortune offering people a drinks package as there are no walkable supermarkets. Or even a few courtesy drinks wouldn’t go amiss. And finally the bathroom extractor fan made quite a loud noise, and the bathroom tap and toilet seat were loose. Maybe we caught them at the end of season and they will make all these repairs over winter, but as these are easy fixes it’s a shame the hotel isn’t better maintained. All that said, I’d go back for the view alone.

So unique, staff were so helpful, property was real old school but unique.

Good location. Historic house. Friendly host. Proximity to the castle, with very good points of interest, including restaurants.

A large number of somewhat complex stairs for people with reduced mobility, which was the case for one of the guests. The bathroom in the room assigned to me was very small, with no space to place toiletries. Unpleasant smell of stale urine near the toilet. Access to it was via stairs. The breakfast room was cramped and the meal was very basic. At times, it was necessary to ask for missing items to be replenished..
