Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa

Very clean and well maintained hotel. All the staff were professional and helpful. The location in Malta is very handy for exploring the island and crossing to Gozo. The rooftop pool is quite spectacular, but pretty cold when we visited. The food on the rooftop restaurant was excellent. Not the cheapest but well prepared and great quality.

The car park access is horrendous. I had queried the published advice that it is only really suitable for cars up to 2m long, as that seemed ridiculous, and I was messaged back to say my class of rental vehicle (Peugeot 208/Citroen C2) was fine. The reality is that the 5 storey deep spiral ramp is extremely tight and takes considerable time to navigate to avoid scrapes in anything other than a tiny Toyota Aygo or equivalent. Also the traffic light system at the top and bottom of the ramp seemed to work intermittently and we had to contact reception repeatedly to confirm the ramp was clear. Every other car park user I encountered had the same feedback. I advised a new guest arriving of the problems - it took him 30 minutes to access the car park with his son walking in front of the car to guide it down! I would advise parking on the side streets as a better alternative. The hotel is located across two separate buildings on either side of the main road through the town. It’s actually a much bigger hotel than it looks. It’s cleverly done with an access tunnel between the two, but if you are on the other side of the complex to the main building you are having to navigate multiple different levels just to move around the hotel and all main facilities are on that side. This wasn’t clear to me before booking and it does affect the customer experience. Also rooms facing the street - even at higher levels experience the sounds of early morning delivery lorries and refuse collections.

Great rooms, multiple pools, spa, sauna's. Everything was great. Great cocktails at the swimming pool bar.
