The building is impressive and our bedroom was large with a view of the extensive garden at the back. The bed was comfortable.
The room smelt odd and unpleasant. We were told this was white vinegar for cleaning. It wasn’t nice. This hotel is in a very small village. It has no restaurant. The village has one bar/tabac and a dying chip shop. The nearest town is Douai and it is pretty in parts but mostly closed with bands of roaming adolescents. We wouldn’t stay at the hotel again. We’d have gladly paid for a bottle of wine and a sandwich or a cold plate had it been offered. Probably an opportunity to consider.
