I booked the family room and it was huge! Plus, amazing views of the mountains and the gondola. Perfect location for hiking and the train.
No shampoo or soap in the room. Breakfast was just ok. Also, payment was by cash even though I confirmed in advance that booking.com was going to take payment.

We had the apartment which was very spacious and comfortable.
Full kitchen facilities.
The location was minutes from the railway station and the Gastein visitor card allowed us to use free public transport to the wonderful Sportgastein area and also the train into Salzburg which was a huge bonus.

A bed and breakfast run by a mom and pop duo who were both lovely and helpful. Location was great, 5 minute walk to the gondola and even closer to Felsentherme. Provides you with a Bad Gastein card wish is useful for travel and discounts in the area. Free breakfast in the morning was lovely as was the deck provided with our stay. Rooms were also very clean. You get a bang for your buck and would 100% stay here again.
Initially it was slightly hard to locate and check in. Emphasis on slightly as we quickly found our way and checked in.

Location is convenient when travelling by public transit: sportgastein, cables, bad hofgastein, all easy to reach and stores on foot. The Gastein area is beautiful for hikers and a week was easily spend.
Appartment is big enough and has a great view. Door is always open and early check-in was no problem.
Mattrasses and bedframe need an update ( holes, lose bottom, cat hair). Not for fashion but for safety and comfort..
Harder to grasp, but the eery feeling between overly welcome greetings and some problematizing "rules" was a bit tricky to navigate for me/us. I imagine there are demanding guests (and that must be cumbersome) but i dont think we were and the few requests we made, made us feel we were problematic. Everyone communicates differently, but we would like to add, especially after reading some similar reviews: It is ok to evaluate or leave the hospitality business when you are done with it, or repurpose the Gasthaus and reinvent yourself. Nobody blames you, go for it!
