Good location if you don't mind walking a bit to downtown, restaurants, etc. Bed was very comfortable and a fan was provided as it was quite hot in Southampton when we were there. We didn't use the kitchen but it looked adequate for preparing meals.
The motion sensor light in the bathroom is unneccesary was obnoxious if anyone got up at night. (We ended up putting a towel over it.) There is no electrical outlet in the bathroom, and the ones just outside are too low unless you have a hairdryer or shaver with a very long cord. The window requires being quite tall to open or close it. Therefore we had to stand on the desk which proved scary as there are no slicone dots under the glass top to prevent it from sliding.

really nice room and very polite staff and even with the overbooking situation i encountered i enjoyed being upgraded to a on suite room for £0 extra

Room was spotlessly clean from the bedding to the bathroom.
The facilities were great, although a little bit dated, they worked.
Very friendly
Kitchen was well equipped
Although the kitchen was well equipped, there was limited equipment and some of it was not clean.

The room was basic but perfect for our needs (we just needed a bed). The beds were comfortable and having codes to enter both the property and the room was handy (rather than relying on staff). There was an issue when we arrived (see below) but the staff fixed it for me, wrote me a lovely apology note and left £10 in the room as a goodwill gesture (I left this in the room as it wasn't necessary).
When we arrived the bedroom hadn't been made up, it was still messy from the previous occupant. I called and they apologised and corrected the issue (see above). The shower was useless, it was weak, the water squirted everywhere except where you needed it to go (grubby shower head) and the shower head kept falling out of its bracket.
