Food was good, and better the second night than the first. Lots of options at breakfast. Room was lovely, super view of shirahama beach.
A bit of a delay getting checked in, had to wait in the lobby for a while but it seemed to be a small team and they did make some effort. Getting guests checked in immediately on arrival is probably the lowest cost improvement that any hotel can make, so I would hope they improve this in future.
Onsen facilities are old, enough so that I only went once.
