The building is beautiful and the pub itself is very appealing. Parking on site is a real bonus too. Very friendly staff. Very comfortable bed

No shower facility in room. No mini fridge which would be a considerable bonus. Very hot room so uncomfortable to sleep in. TV was pretty small and only regular channels. I wanted skimmed or semi skimmed milk in the morning and was told that they only have full fat milk. No fruit or yoghurt as an alternative to regular cooked breakfast or cereal

What a find! Great pub/inn in a superb village, with a castle, Easy parking, big bedroom and bathroom.

The breakfast was fine although every offering on the menu involved eggs. I would have had porridge, French toast, something other than eggs. Whim not a vegan or a vegetarian but poor choice for them. Our room (we stayed on there before) was as remembered clean tidy etc but the bed mattress kept boinging in the night every time one of us turned over.

The menu on offer was very poor. We had brought friends with us this time and had mentioned what a lovely meal we’d had during our first stay last year. Every meal was a basic chippy offering. Fish and chips, lasagna and chips, burger and chips, steak and chips. What the heck!! It was embarrassing. The only two decent meals, pigs cheeks and risotto were off the menu! We asked for water for one of the party and the waitress came back with a pint of water! Gulp. Our friends paid £140+ for a small twin bedded room and this level of food on offer was comparable to a Hungry Horse! In addition the bar was in gloom with what seemed like lights on only where people were sitting. We were in a dark gloomy corner to the right of the bar and my friend commented that she could hardly read the menu. There was no ambience at all. We won’t come again despite loving the easy access to Frome.
