Very beautiful traditional place which included tatami, futon, shoji, zabuton, and a traditional Onsen, making the experience definitely worth the price. We paid extra for the dinner, it was delivered to our rooms and was very delicious. The rooms were spacious - plenty, even too much room for just three people. The believe the Onsen were 50 yen per night per person. In the common area on level 1, free amenities were provided as well as ice blocks after the Onsen as well as soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. In the same area, there was a souvenir shop with a range of items to buy (packaged food, décor, hair accessories, yosegi-zaiku (wood inlay) etc). We stored our luggage with the front desk as we arrived early and it was delivered to our room.

When we were leaving, we had to carry the suitcases down multiple flights of stairs - no lifts at this place so this might be something to keep in mind if you have trouble climbing stairs. A slight con was that the room didn't provide toilets or shower, instead there were common toilets for men and women available on every floor.

Ai margini del paese di Hakone Yumoto, ma a soli 5minuti a piedi dalla stazione di Tonosawa del Tozai train, ti fa immergere in una dimensione molto autentica (come in un film di Miyazaki)! Il fiume che scorre impetuoso a fianco ne accresce la magia.

The room I stayed at had a riverside view and it was amazing! It was very peaceful to listen to it to fall asleep, almost became white noise. Also very nice to drink a morning tea and watch the river. The public onsen was also well kept, it had everything you need for a good soak. There are many signs in the change room to tell you what the rules are and guide you. The meals were also exceptional! Staff was also friendly and helpful!

Very nice staff, food was delicious. Free drinks, but since we are not drinkers (alcohol) we did not get the value.

Onsen in the room did not hold water, kept draining, no place to hang towels.
