It was very clean. It was decorated sparse, but pretty. The owner had a washer and dryer and let us do laundry for five dollars a load and the laundry soap was included.. Also, there were bikes free for use. We enjoyed riding bikes but here it is kind of tricky. If you can make it to the waterfront there’s a great area to ride bikes. Cars here park on the sidewalk so you need to be careful. The fact that the bedroom was air-conditioned was huge. The rest of the house could get a little warm, but nothing that a ceiling fan wouldn’t cure. But your bedroom was so nice at night to be nice and cool. The bathroom was really clean and nicely remodeled. Do you have a shelf for your use in the refrigerator. There are plates, glasses, and wine glasses. There is a covered patio with nice seating . We sat out there when it rained and stayed comfortable and dry. The owner also gave us tips for touring the area and for some nearby restaurants that he liked.

I would have liked more towels we were allotted pretty much one towel each, and no hand towel to dry your hands in the bathroom. The kitchen was very nice but there were absolutely no pots and pans or any way to cook. No I take that back there was one pot And the microwave was a oven microwave combo that I couldn’t figure out how to use so for me, the kitchen was kind of non-functional other than being able to fix things there for breakfast . Our room was pretty quiet but in the neighborhood there’s a lot of dogs, barking, growling, and roosters crowing but there’s nothing that can be done about that. I actually didn’t hear them in our room with the air conditioning on.. I only heard them when I was in the other part of the house..

Fred was super helpful and very methodical. He greeted us and provided local recommendations, he even lined up our taxi to the airport the following morning. The kitchen was a social atmosphere and the bedroom had A/C cranking. It was a perfect stop before our flight out of Tahiti.

We had the deluxe suite which allowed us to share the bedroom with our 2 kids. We also had our own bathroom which was nice. The a/c was a godsend because it was pretty hot when we stayed there. The owner, Fred, was really accommodating. He made sure that we were comfortable and he gave us what we needed such as extra towels, more toilet paper, etc. He also gave us recommendations of places to eat and visit. The lodge was really quiet and the wifi was pretty good. My daughter was also able to watch some Netflix which was good for the downtime. The lodge is also at a central location so as long as you have a car, it's easy to get around the area. It's walking distance to a bakery/patisserie, pharmacy, bank, and a supermarket which was awesome. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Whenever we rent an apartment or condo for vacation, I'm usually able to cook but cooking is limited and not recommended in this place so if that's your plan, you wouldn't be able to do it here. Otherwise, everything else was great.

The landlord couple are exceptional. They are considerate, thoughtful and work very hard to make things perfect here. The place is clean and comfortable and beautiful. They attract good people and many are returning guests. I met nice people and made friends with several guests here. Even the dogs are so friendly, they come to see me at my deck almost everyday! I will come back!

Share bathroom

Cleanliness and comfort was excellent. Everything provided in the modern kitchen. Proximity to banks, supermarket, and roulottes (food trucks). Only an easy half hour walk into town. Attention and help from Fred, our host. Fred would book our taxis, tours, and recommend places to eat, etc, and laid out continental breakfasts for us to our surprise. Tara Tahiti Lodge is a must for anyone visiting Papeete.

The outside area allowed smoking which put us off using that area.

Great communication via WhatsApp, even when flight was delayed. The staff was friendly, explain the faculty in detail, the room was nice and comfortable. The location was convenient enough.

There was 11 of us and we only stay at lodge for 1 day. We got 2 suites and 2 rooms for the night. The place was great as we need to unwind for the trip home. We relaxed on the deck and got food from the grocery store which was only 2 minutes away. The place was clean and the common area was spacious to reflex in.

clean, large, modern room, nice bath. Large “common” (we were the only ones) living room kitchen with large hdtv plus Netflix. Owner bends backwards to make your stay great until it creaks! ordered an afternoon taxi for, and came by to make sure taxi came!

expecting “lodge” to be a hotel, finding an Airbnb style place in a tiny side alley was a little shock, but it turned wonderful after that.

Tara Tahiti Lodge is a very comfortable accomodation with everything you need for a few days in Tahiti. Fred is such a nice host and always ready to help. The bicycles perfect to move around the neighbourhood and Papeete and all facilities are clean and comfortable. The neighbourhood is perfectly fine with the food trucks closely as a must for a truly local experience. La dolce is the restaurant closest by with amazing food but a much bigger bill. Just enjoy the local experience at Tara Tahiti Lodge. Thank you Fred for being such a nice host! A bientôt!
