The location is right in the centre of Humenne within easy walking distance of the railway station (attention, A.I. directed me to disembark the train at the main station, but getting off at Humenne mesto gets you much closer to the accommodation, which can be reached on foot in about five minutes). Within easy walking distance one finds most of the local attractions, including the splendid chateau/museum and the adjacent open-air museum featuring traditional folk architecture. Several restaurants and bistros close by offer good meals, including breakfasts. Three or four small supermarkets within short distance make shopping for food easy. The apartment is exceptionally spacious, spotlessly clean, and the kitchen is very well equipped. The beds are nicely firm and comfortable. Big windows in all rooms make the apartment bright and inviting. Even a large family with several children would have enough space to stretch out.

One issue which the owner has no control over but which detracted from the quality of my stay is the noise coming from a busy highway that runs at the back of the apartment building. The windows of the bedroom and living room face this highway, and with open windows the noise makes restful sleeping difficult. The windows have good sound insulation, and as long as they are shut, the rooms are nice and quiet. During hot days and nights one can remedy the noise problem by using the air-con installed in the bedroom, but there seems to be an extra charge for that service. I ended up sleeping on a reasonably comfortable sofa in the kitchen which has windows facing away from the busy highway.

Everything was excellent! The place was spotlessly clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay and for cooking. Tea and coffee were also provided for breakfast, which was a lovely touch. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it!

The mattresses are quite firm, which may not suit everyone. However, if you prefer a firm mattress, there is no problem at all. Unfortunately, the pillows were very uncomfortable and made it almost impossible to sleep well. It would be a great improvement to invest once in good-quality orthopedic pillows costing around €20–30. I’m sure it would make guests much happier and significantly improve their stay.

Popracovala by som na intenzite wifi signálu, nepodarilo sa nám využívať internet ani na niekoľko pokusov, ale prežili sme :) Plus odporúčam pretrieť občas ovládače od telky. Inak bol celý pobyt aj prístup pána domáceho na vysokej úrovni :) Ďakujeme
