Beautiful home and very clean. We enjoyed our stay

This property brings everything you need to get away and relax. The master bedroom is the perfect place to wake up and take in beautiful views of the river. We traveled with our three teenagers and my elderly parents and the set-up worked out perfectly! The house is close to so much, f you want to explore there are endless opportunities! We can’t wait to go back!

The house was built to provide stunning views of the Shrewsbury River and it certainly delivers. After my nephew’s wedding, we had a small family gathering here and everyone mentioned that I found “an amazing place”. The venue provide the perfect environment for my siblings and cousins to reconnect after the pandemic induced separation. I want to complement our hosts, Lisa and Richard, for making it possible. The morning of our get-together we encountered a minor plumbing issue, so I mentioned it to our hosts and on the Saturday of 4th of July week, a plumber arrived 90 minutes later to resolve the issue. They care! Very happy with my rental choice.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The home was beautiful, and the views are amazing. We will be looking forward to staying here in the future.

The pictures just cannot do this property justice. It is truly a beautiful location and home. The owner was extremely responsive and very kind in person. The home is very well stocked with anything you need during your stay. The chairs, couches and beds were all very comfortable. We hope to visit again soon!

My sister got married at Wave Resort in Long Branch. The brides family stayed in this guest home and it was perfect. Note the upstairs room has a toilet and shower but is not fully closed off from the room/downstairs so renting with family was ideal. The property is gorgeous and the owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with. I could sit outside there forever! The owners live next door and while they do have teenage/ young adult kids they were very nice, did not bother us, and were enjoying their property on a holiday weekend! Located very close to everything you need in a super safe neighboorhood!

Exceptional hospitality and personal touches made this place feel like a home away from home. Property had all we needed and the owner graciously came by to replace a satellite box that wasn’t working. We enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Our stay was disappointing. The rental is the small guest house of the owner’s house immediately next door, so there is no privacy (no fence or shrubs between the buildings, just a 10 foot strip of grass). The owners house and the rental share the waterfront backyard but the owners use the whole property. There aren't any drapes in the loft bedroom, so it is brightly lit up by 5 am. Even the toilet up there has glass walls. (The rental is nice enough, Pottery Barn style.) The owners allowed their teenage children to have big outdoor parties two of our nights there. The first one went until 3 am. The next night, our family came home from the beach to find hundreds of teenagers wandering the property, drinking, blasting music, and making out in the bushes next to the rental's living room plate glass window. It was quite the blow-out! On our way in, we saw neighbors and 4 policemen arguing with teenagers in the driveway. As we stood there on the porch in amazement, the owner stormed over to scold us for texting his wife about the party the night before. He also went on about how this was "HIS place, he owned all of it without a mortgage and he could do whatever he wanted with it". We asked him why he had rented us the guest house if he didn't want us there. He couldn't come up with an answer other than cursing at us. Given his aggressive behavior, the police, the hundreds of kids, etc., we decided the situation wasn't safe. We packed up and left. The owners should have told us their plans. We could have easily cancelled and found someplace else. We are posting this because we don't want this to happen to other people. To the owners: Don't bother telling us not to come back. We weren't planning on it!

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this property in Oceanport. The house is absolutely beautiful as are the views. The beach was close by as are restaurants, food stores, coffee shops. The location was perfect. I highly recommend this home for the perfect/quiet family vacation.

The master "bedroom" is a loft and completely open to the rest of the house. If someone was chewing in the kitchen, I could hear it in the bedroom - oh and the upstairs bathroom is open, too. Lots of windows make for beautiful views but waking up to the sun every day meant I had to put on sunglasses before I opened my eyes. The beds were squeaky, the pillows were pancakes. No place to hang a wet towel in the master "bedroom/bathroom." No curtains anywhere means sound bounces everywhere. The owners have teens that have friends that blasted music and their pool had a waterfall that never shut off. Great place to party, terrible place to relax. Don't go with young kids, you'll never sleep.

However, just a few things to improve in our opinion - this is the guest house to a larger house and both essentially share a backyard so there isn’t a lot of privacy. The downstairs bedrooms are really small and for us, those beds were too soft. The half bath downstairs doesn’t have a lock on it and was low on hand soap (we just used a different bathroom’s hand soap). The house didn’t have extra toilet paper (which Lisa had someone quickly bring when I asked) and the grill was dirty (which I’m sure Lisa would have had cleaned if I asked but it was easier to just do it ourselves). We loved the American flags in the backyard but there was also a huge trump 2024 flag in the backyard on the side of the larger house which was a little uncomfortable and distracting to us when we were looking at the sunset. It may not affect others but was distracting for us.

Beautiful little house on the water next to owners house. This rental is on the market to be sold and the realtor brought people into the yard to look but not inside.

We had the most wonderful, fun and beautiful stay at Rich and Lisa's gorgeous beach house right on the Shrewsbury with wall-to-wall river, sunrise and sunset views. The house is absolutely delightful and so well designed for any family or couple. We had the best time ever and felt so at home and such peace and zen. Our bonus was becoming true friends with Rich and Lisa who are the most accomplished, welcoming and gorgeous couple. We are looking forward to returning very soon and our Goldendoodle Beckett is still crying for his little buddy Duke who lives next door. Just so perfect and we will never forget our stay.
