Shady mango villa

Sigiriya was the first stop on our Sri Lanka journey and staying in Shady Mango Villa made it truly unforgettable! We arrived early morning way before check-in time, but we were offered a room immediately as it was vacant the day before, we even got offered a breakfast - it was a really lovely gesture which instantly made us feel welcome. The guesthouse is situated in a quiet area perfect for relax after sighsteeing, however there are lots of restaurant and small shops on the same street so it’s very convenient. Main attraction - Lion’s Rock is also a walking distance. Our room was spacious, beds were comfortable, there was also a fridge, kettle, complimentary tea and even a power adapter - owners really took care of the smallest details. But the most important part is the family that owns the place. Nayana is the sweetest host ever offering lots of advice, visibly caring about her guests and preparing absolutely delicious (and big!)breakfasts. Sunil is a great tour guide with lots of knowledge and great sense of humour - also a very safe and good tuk-tuk driver! Their kindness and hospitality will remain my best memory from Sigiriya. If I ever come back to Sigiriya (I hope to!), then I will definitely stay at Shady Mango Villa again as it is a flawless accommodation owned by truly amazing people :)

Great location, super friendly and welcoming hosts, room and facility was one of the cleanest one we had in Sri Lanka! And not to mention the breakfast, which we were looking forward to each morning!

This was the best place I stayed so far in Sri Lanka. The rooms are in perfect conditions, super comfortable beds and the breakfast is amazing. (I ate the best mango in my life) But for sure the best part are the people at this place. Super helpful, kind and always there if you need something.
