I was able to arrive after check-in, needed a bed for the night due to work reasons. Left early the next day, did not need to take key to admin office, was able to leave in room and go.

The place was clean and comfortable. On line the property appears to be set back off the road with lawns but it isn't like that at all. the front yard is concreted and it's close to the road. It must be a very old photo.

The reception staff were difficult to understand and rather abrupt. I don't normally pay before I get the room but rather at the end of the stay....my credit card number was held by the motel so there would have been no issue had I left without paying.

It was situated close to a supermarket for a quick shop and was easy to locate. The rooms were nice obviously newly renovated and very clean. The shower pressure was phenomenal. Bed was comfy. Parking at door. Good kitchen fit out, but no dishwasher. Nice and quiet location as well.

When you pulled up to the motor lodge it looks really seedy and you question whether you will stay or not, but the rooms have been done up so that was a nice surprise. Travelling on my own as a woman, security is one thing that I am always concerned about and there should have been another lock or catch on the inside of the front door and the sliding door opened out onto a dark unlit walkway at the back of the motor lodge - there really should have been another sliding lock on this door as they are so easy to open and the room was on the ground floor. Must admit it did keep me awake. The lighting inside was not great and they only supplied one bath towel, it would have been nice to have another if you decided to have two showers in your stay.

Very close to Takapuna shops for someone with no vehicle. Very good public transport close by. Supermarket and shops. Locality was clean and I felt safe walking even at night. Staff friendly. Good supply of tea and coffee.

I should have mentioned on my booking that had heavy bag and would have preferred downstairs room. Didn't know this until I arrived. No lift only stairs. Daily service is limited to change of towels. Not a big deal for a single guy staying several nights. But could be challenging for families. Washing own dishes & cutlery requires using bathroom basin as not in room service.

Clean tidy room, air con good, good shower, quiet and convenient.
