Lovely helpful drive that picked us up and then returned us the next day to the train station

Very old and run down building, mouldy smelling.

The staff was so kind they allowed us to add a last minute dinner on our check-in day! The food was amazing so we were very happy we could add both dinner and breakfast for both nights. We loved having their onsen after our light hiking day! Very convenient travelling by car with their private parking lot.

The building is a bit old and the onsen is small, but everything is kept clean so it didn't bother us at all.

Small traditional ryokan tucked away in a tiny town in the Atera valley. It is very far off the beaten path but offers tons of reward adventuring that far out. Hotel staff is very welcoming offering pick up from the train station and being a fully stocked hotel with food, drinks and information on nature walks near by. The dinner and breakfast options are some of the best meals I have had in Japan offering a traditional meal experience. The onsens are tattoo friend and offer an exciting experience of a traditional onsen. 10 minutes walking from the ryokan is a paved nature walk that also has E-bike rentals to venture up the Atera Valley and swim in traditional pools for a refreshing experience.
