Both Colin and his brother were very super friendly and helpful, rooms were nice, clean and you'll have everything you need. Location was just great - short walk to the St. Francois beach and most beautiful beaches on the island (between Graviere and Cotton Bay) can be reached easily on foot from St. Franocois too. Some small shops and restaurants nearby too. You can also hire a pick-up or scooter for a good price. Breakfasts & dinners were delicious and plentiful. All in all, great value for money. I'm glad that I've decided to visit Rodrigues island and when I will return (and I will), I'll definitely stay here again.

Rodrigues is a quiet Island, we stayed at the Merlin guest house on Half board Basis ( Breakfast -Dinner) as there are very limited dining options nearby, The food was superb and lots of it, we were here over Christmas and a special effort was made to make everyone feel in the Christmas spirit. well done. :-) The rooms are spacious, and cleaned every day. Yes there is Wi-Fi if you need it, you just need to find the Hotspot where it works best, outside in the comfy chairs! Location on the beach road just 2 minutes walk to the beach Air con in the bedroom( you will need it) Our room was like a small apartment, a bedroom and a lounge/kitchen with balcony and a separate bathroom. All the food was served in a communal dining room in the garden which brings all the guests together for a chat and is a good atmosphere. Feels like staying at a very relaxed friends house. If you can speak French it will help ( we cannot) but there is always a way to communicate its not a problem. Some scooters available to hire if you need to get about. Local Bus will stop outside if you need it. Rodriques is a rural location, so expect the Chickens to wake you in the mornings. ( didnt notice after a few days!) The friendly host will try to arrange any day trips you may like to try, Island visits, snorkling on the reef, visiting the Giant Tortoise sanctuary etc. Recommended for the off the tourist trail tourist, if that makes sense?

Ok, So Rodrigues is a small relativly undeveloped island, so expect some 'plumbing smells' from the services occasionally.
