Helen's house is an incredible place. The listing describes it as cozy, which is often real-estate code for "cramped", but the house was spacious while still being wonderfully pleasant for a winter (or, I assume, summer!) getaway. It's easily accessible from the main roads, although a 4WD or AWD is advisable for a few sections that may be icy. The main room is heated by a gas fireplace, which can also keep the rest of the house warm, and there are radiators in every room with individual controls. The house was well maintained and nicely decorated; nothing fussy or overdone, just classy and pleasant. While we brought our own utensils, the kitchen was well equipped and stocked. I recommend this rental wholeheartedly.

This property was exactly what we were looking for. The house was perfect for our group. Plenty of space and stocked with all that we needed. The rooms were clean and the beds were made up for our arrival. The kitchen was equipped with all appliances and items we needed to make our meals. The kids ran and played while the adults could sit and relax in the outdoor spaces. The short walk to the lake made it convenient as well. This property was exactly what we were looking for.

We enjoyed our week-end here. The cabin is in a nice shady spot with near neighbors but isolated by trees and greenery. There are plenty of amenities indoor and out. The cabin condition is a little dated but amenities are as described here and everything is in working order. The cabin is more spacious than I expected from the beds & bath count so my family of 6 found it plenty large. Garrett County MD is an amazing place with tons of natural forest beauty. Wow, didn't know about this as a destination but it's worth it!

This was a great house for a vacation of a family of eight. It had plenty of room for us and it is near all the state parks and hiking trails we wanted to visit.

Helen's home is the perfect place to stay, it is close to everything in Deep Creek and is super clean.

We had a great time on our family get away. The house was clean, with plenty of room, and more than accommodating with all of the necessary things to make our stay like we were at home.

We needed to stay in this area for a family wedding. We found the house to be very clean and larger than it appears in the photos. The owner was great at communicating and went above and beyond to make the house welcoming.

Property is bigger than the pictures show. Check in/out was very simple. Huge yard! The bunkbeds in the backroom was great because my younger kids stayed in the same room as my husband and I. The drive to the lake and shops wasn't bad at all. We had a great stay!

Beautiful property, fantastic home for 5 children and 2 adults. We enjoyed coffee every morning under the little Pavillion and hummingbirds visited the feeders regularly. A short walk to the lake with access to a picnic table and shade.

We had an amazing anniversary stay at this lovely home. The home is much very clean, well maintained, and in a great location. We were able to get everywhere we wanted to go in minutes. It rained for some of our trip, but were still able to enjoy the evenings under the pavilion. We also got to enjoy the great fire pit in the yard. I can't say enough about how wonderful the owner was to us. They are very communicative, easy to get in touch with, and extremely thoughtful. We will definitely be renting this home again. We can't wait to come back.

Very nice, clean and well maintained house. Very convenient location. We enjoyed to stay in this house for 2 nights. It was a pleasure to communicate with the owner. We certainly recommend to rent this house.

This house was listed as a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom house. In reality it had 2 bathrooms, one of them being in the basement off a small bedroom, so no really a pass-through and accessible for the rest of the occupants. The house was for 10 people, so if you put aside the 2 ppl in the basement bedroom with access to their own bath, it basically left 8 people sharing one bathroom. Needless to say, we literally had to stay in line waiting to use the bathroom, kids and adults alike. On top of it, that only toilet was clogging quite often and it had to be plunged. Not how I want to spend my vacation days! When contacted about it, the owner didn't respond at all, complete silence. After a complaint to vrbo they said they contacted the owner and the information has been corrected on the website. Thank you on behalf of the next renters, but how about some courtesy discount/ refund for the false information listed and for the inconvenience on our side? Vrbo says it is just between you and the owner. I didn't rent from the owner, but from vrbo, and the owner is not responding. To add insult to the injury, the owner finally sent a text after all this, "the information is listed correctly, I don't know where you saw 4 bedrooms 4 bathrooms". What a bad joke! Yes, I know it's corrected now, because I called vrbo myself and they had you change it. I sent her the listing as it was when I reserved the house, which showed 4 bd 4 ba. No answer again. Overall a horrible experience, between the house problems, the rip off of paying for something that we didn't get, the treatment from the owner and from vrbo. The all glowing 5 stars reviews must be from friends.

The house was much bigger then I could tell from the pictures online. It was central to all we wanted to do. We were close to the lake access/beach and went kayaking. We played flag football on a field right next to Tennis courts that are right behind the house. We had a nice fire in the yard firepit and were able to cook a nice Thanksgiving dinner (pasta night instead of Traditional Turkey). Clean up and check out were easy. It was a great stay.

Great size house for a family gathering, large outside yard. Close to parks and activities in the area. House was clean and had lots of things a large family needs like tissues, kitchen supplies, bath supplies, and extra blankets. Only one bathroom upstairs and one downstairs.

We felt so comfortable staying here. The. Cabin was cozy and homey. Lots of windows kept it bright even though we were surrounded by trees. The place was well stocked with everything we might need. Truly enjoyed our stay
