The Log Cabin Lodge ist mit Sicherheit eine außergewöhnliche Adresse rund um Stellenbosch. Eine wunderschöne Anlage mit Blicken auf die Weinberge und die Umgebung, die man nicht genug bekommen kann. Ein netter Pool, eine Bar auf Vertrauensbasis mit leckerem Wein vom Nachbarweingut. Große Zimmer mit Kückenzeile. Sehr nettem Empfang, eigenem Koch, der nicht nur ein tolles Frühstück zaubert sondern auch Abendessen auf höchstem Niveau serviert. Wir haben uns mehr als sehr wohl gefühlt und werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Probleempje met vleermuizen onder ons dak maar daar konden zij weinig aan doen.

It's a nice lodge in a quiet location (when the generator wasn't running) with peaceful views and good atmosphere (fireplace)

We had no electricity the whole time we were there. There was an electrical problem in the whole neighborhood that owner and staff already knew about, but that didn't keep them from offering the apartment on booking (we booked a day in advance). To handle the problem they kept the very noisy generator running for the whole time - which still didn't provide our apartment with electricity as promised. Hours later they told us our flat was apparently on a different circuit and they were unable to provide us with electricity. We initially at least had cold water for showering, at some point during the night the water pressure also dropped to essentially nothing so we couldn't even flush the toilets anymore or wash ourselves. So we were given an apartment without electricity and running water. Naturally we were never able to use any of the kitchen facilities we had chosen the apartment for. This was supposed to be a last luxurious night in South Africa for us and it turned into the most uncomfortable accommodation we booked (and the priciest). The staff apologized and when we complained promised us the manager would come and talk to us. After asking for the manager several times the next day she finally at least managed to call us if not show up in person. In the end she offered us 50% of the money back but we never obtained that money in the end (despite us writing to the manager on several occasions, being ignored). We have traveled a lot and tend to stay in basic, cheap accommodations and have never complained about circumstances (or the regular power shortages in South Africa). Also we realize that the situation itself was not created by or the fault of the management - but the way they handled the problem was blankly disappointing and unprofessional.

Die Lage mitten in der Natur (umgeben von Weinbergen) war traumhaft. Weiterhin waren alle Mitarbeiter der Lodge super freundlich, sodass man sich sofort wie zuhause gefühlt hat. Die ganze Lodge ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Es gibt vor Ort einen Pool, einen HotPool, einen Minigolf Platz, ein Riesen Schachbrett, Leihfahrräder, Grillstelle u.v.m. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht dort, was viel zu kurz war. Beim nächsten mal bleiben wir min. 2-3 Nächte. Vergesst auch Stellenbosch, die Lage der Lodge ein bisschen außerhalb der Stadt ist viel besser und erholsamer. Weiterhin können wir das Essen ( Frühstück & Abendessen) jedem ans Herz legen. Wieder mit viel Liebe und Kräutern aus dem eigenen Garten zubereitet. Ein Traum! Als weiteres Highlight ist der super liebe Lodge-Hund zu nennen, ein ganz Lieber, welchen wir sofort ins Herz geschlossen haben.

Amazing place to stay, located in a beautiful and quiet winery. Very friendly staff! Were really impressed by the breakfasts, that was another masterpiece.

Eine atemberaubende Unterkunft! Die Aussicht ist wunderschön, es gibt viel grün, viel Platz, einen Pool, einen Hund und Katzen. Die Einrichtung ist perfekt, jedes Detail passt und die Mischung aus Holz, Landschaft und Moderne ist genial. Das Personal ist der Wahnsinn.

Tout est simple et ça fait du bien ! - le lieux est calme, magnifique, un vrai havre de paix - les chambres sont spacieuses, propres, tout est à disposition et il y a pleins de petites attentions dans la chambre - nous avons pu faire notre propre repas grâce à l’aide de l’équipe, c’était un moment incroyable. Merci beaucoup !

The place was breathtaking and peaceful

We couldn't get into the hot tub because it was raining. Maybe consider rainy weather aswell.

What can I say, few times have I felt as relaxed as I did at the Log Cabin. A small hotel nestled and hidden among the vineyards of the Stellenbosch. Already from our arrival we breathed in an air of peace and tranquility. Few rooms all with their own theme and very large. We got the barrel room. The wine present at the 'honesty bar is enjoyable. Mention for the rosé. Friendly and attentive staff, Frank is a great person and very kind as well as an excellent griller. Special mention for the cats who look forward to the cuddles present in the communal lounge. Without a shadow of a doubt one of our best stays. Thank you

The scenery was beautiful. The facility itself was great. Very comfortable.. and the staff were very helpful. Also liked the fact that it’s close to town in case we needed anything

In terms of functionality, in winter it’s slightly impractical. When it’s raining you’re unable to use the hot tub because the veranda covering ends before the hot tub. You’re also unable to braai due to the braai stand only being allowed off of the deck. I think a built in braai would have been more appropriate or atleast a braai established on the deck. A few more kitchen supplies would also help. We didn’t have anything to dry the dishes with. Extra blankets would also be nice in winter.

what can I say… this place is AMAZING. would reccomend it to everyone. great food, beautiful enviroment, lovely staff and the bbq was also amazing for the daily braai we did!

You have to remember to warm up the hot tub few hours in advance :)

The private villa that my girlfriend and I stayed in was amazing. Spacious 2 bedrooms with a fantastic view, a private hot tub outdoors, and a private tree house with a bath tub. Absolutely amazing! The staff were also very helpful and friendly. We had a BBQ night as well with other travelers that were staying there!
