Cedar House is the perfect choice if you’re looking for somewhere truly special to stay while visiting Gisborne. The beautifully appointed rooms are spacious, warm and exceptionally comfortable.
The boutique experience is enhanced by the thoughtful little touches, from complimentary snacks and refreshments to the wonderfully unexpected luxury of 3-ply toilet paper!
Cedar House itself is a stunning historic building, with so many beautiful features to appreciate — from the timber panelling throughout and pressed-tin ceilings to the gorgeous combination of old and new stained glass.
Hosts Roger and Penny are friendly, relaxed and welcoming, providing excellent service while creating a wonderfully homely atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Cedar House to anyone looking for somewhere special, comfortable and full of character in Gisborne.

This is an absolute gem. The old house is stunning. The location is perfect. Our hosts were genial and very accommodating. Our room was beautiful.

Very spacious, nicely furnished, good facilities - fridge with icemaker was a bonus.
There was a security light right outside one of the bedrooms which went off every few seconds. The blinds didn't block completely so sleep was disrupted for one of our party.
