It's cosy and just what you'd expect for a shepherds hut. Comfy bed, all very clean, great star gazing. Perfect location for transport links into York. Others have complained about the hut not being level, they're right but it's not that bad and we found it added to the charm. The hosts were responsive and really helpful with lots of advice re local eateries and travelling into York. We had a lovely time and would visit again.
If you're a light sleeper the road noise from the A64 might bother you. The bathroom is a tight squeeze and the steps up to the cabin need a bit of attention but hey it's glamping not a five star hotel.

Peaceful and quirky. Pauline was brilliant. Loved the cozy bed. Trains was not an issue. Was very Peaceful. Shame we hadn't had the rain. Lake was a bit dry
Should have either a tv or radio.

The hut was welcoming and well presented, compact but contained everything you needed for a short stay. It was spotlessly clean with all the basics in place, like loo roll, towels and washing up liquid.
The site was a nice spot and even though it is on the premises of the owner you still had privacy and could just get on.
Plenty of wildlife to watch all around, beautiful birds, a friendly cat and even a baby deer one sunny afternoon.
Honestly nothing we didn't like. The only thing missing is somewhere to hang clothes but there is plenty of storage for them. Not really something we didn't like.

A lovely location
Very basic, no milk sachets to make tea / coffee. No hand towel.
