The locality. Normally stay in Barnsyaple hotel but couldn’t get in for the dates we wanted. But imperial hotel so close to town x and the bottled water touch

Very good location - chose it to be close to start of marathon. But very close to town centre and a lovely outlook over the river. There was good communication beforehand which warned of road closures. We were also allowed to leave our car in the car park after check out until the marathon finished. We didn't eat in the restaurant because a heavy meal before a marathon isn't appropriate, but the bistro was lovely and we had an excellent single course meal there. Very comfy bed and bedding, and an excellent shower.
One of the rooms didn't have a working bedside light (or I couldn't find out how to put it on!) so all the lights were on or nothing, which meant I couldn't read before going to sleep. The other room did have a problem with a very noisy neighbour and TV, which wasn't the hotel's fault, and was dealt with by reception after a call to them at 1am.

Was perfect location as I was taking part in the Barnstaple half marathon the following day., staff were amazing and helpful and the food was good.
My bed was a little firm for me but otherwise there was nothing I didn’t like.
