Sentido Galosol

Spacious, clean, modern room with spectacular ocean and pool views. The room had many lighting options. Staff were all very friendly and warm. Regular bus service to Funchal city and only 10 minutes transfer from the airport. There was a selection of shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. Breakfast at the hotel was fantastic, with a great selection on offer and nicely presented. The pool areas were clean, quiet, and peaceful. Plenty of modern and clean sun loungers available.

The coffee could be better

- comfortable mattress and pillows - tea/coffee facilities in the room - (limited) parking available in front of the hotel - little balcony with a sea view - close to the ocean „beach“ - central if you want to walk to many restaurants/shops - fantastic breakfast buffet - pool outdoor seemed very nice - we did not use it

- two single beds pushed together - not very comfortable for a couple!

The room was nice and clean, spatious and well designed. I loved the balcony, the desk with a view and the big shower. The price is low so I could not expect more.

The hotel was overcrowded, especially the lido and the pools. Therefore, the spa was not relaxing at all. Zero service at breakfast, with a horrible self-service coffee machine that is unconceivable for an Italian :) I tried to book a treatment to have a moment of silence but there was no availability. I managed to book one in the next days by insisting through multiple emails. In general, not a place where one could relax, and unfortunately my instructor chose it for a yoga retreat! Of course, the amount of guests was so unbearable that it was impossible for the staff to keep the common areas perfectly clean, which made my experience even worse. I was even asked to carry my own luggage to my room, quite far from the reception, which I found very strange in a 4 star hotel. I suggest the management to improve the service and the ratio guests-facilities, as people who book a 4 or 5 star hotel do not focus on super low prices but want to enjoy their time even in common areas - especially if segregated here for a yoga retreat as I am -.
