Castle Dargan Hotel

Super staff. Lovely grounds. We stayed in the old house very nice rooms .

Spa area being re developed although you can still have treatments .

The spa was fantastic and the staff were incredibly nice. The bar staff were also good.

The golf course was disappointing because of a disease on the greens. There was no mention of that prior to playing.

We had a gorgeous room in the old house over looking the golf course. The bed was very comfortable with a bath and great shower. This house had charm and was very good value. The grounds and outside space is just beautiful.

The hotel lobby and bar let the place down, there was no real comfortable cosy corners or places to enjoy of an evening once we sat up from our meal. Although I see how this place works as a hotel venue for guests arriving in or golfer at the end of their day for a drink, it didnt really hit the mark for a cosy hotel feel. Maybe if the fire was lit in the coach house, it would help give a space to that. The breakfast was nice with a decent selection for ordering off the menu.

The hotel is located in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. We stayed in one of the apartments, which are located in a separate building from the main hotel. Breakfast was included and served in the hotel building. The breakfast is mainly à la carte and was very good, with a small buffet selection as well.

The apartments must have been very nice when they first opened, but they are now quite worn from heavy use and need renovation. The shower had a lot of mould, and the bathroom was poorly lit. The kitchen was dated and had very few utensils. There was a separate top-opening freezer which was dirty and had liquid inside. The curtains had many stains, and the windows were also dirty. At breakfast, we missed having more fresh fruit. The buffet selection was quite limited, with very little variety and small quantities available. Overall, the apartment needs much better maintenance and a thorough refurbishment.
