Our family came to celebrate Colgate graduation and it was the perfect location. 15-20 minutes away and such a cool house with beautiful views and so many activities to do at the house…corn hole, paddle boat, badminton, horseshoes etc. just a fantastic getaway totally private and comfortable

This property is amazing!!! The pictures do not do with his property justice. It is much nicer and much newer than the picture show. Upon arriving at the Cabin the first thing I noticed was how clean this cabin was. If you are all worried about Covid, you have no concerns at this property it was spotless including every window. My husband and I needed a time of rest which that cabin was perfect for. But if you bring your family, this property offers so much. Both inside and out!! The kitchen is fully stocked, as are paper goods, such as paper towels , toilet paper, etc. There was dish soap dishwasher soap laundry soap etc. also. I cannot recommend this property enough, we had a great time.

The property was very clean and very comfortable. It had everything that we needed and more. Very peaceful. The weather was a little chilly, but the electric fireplace warmed up the living area. If it had been warmer I am sure that we would have used the fire pit and outdoor games that were there. The Poolville County Store was our favorite restaurant.

Everything we needed was there. It truly felt like a home away from, just without the civilization of in-town living. The sunsets were gorgeous this visit, last spring it was the company of 2 resident geese on the pond, and last fall it was trying out all of the games. So we get something different each visit. We'll keep coming back.

My buddies and I really enjoyed the cozy space and the beautiful property. We did a lot of sports outdoors and fished a lot- perfect getaway spot- highly recommend!

Beautiful home surrounded by nature. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures portray. My kids had a great week fishing and swimming in the lake and roasting marshmallows by the fire. We would definitely love to return.

We had a great stay. The place was perfect for a family stay with entertainment space, lots of activities. the large pond was beautiful, the dock, kayaks and pattle boat were enjoyable. We'll be back

We have been renting Ray’s Rustic Retreat for several years now and I can’t say enough good things about this property! The property itself is stunning and beautifully landscaped. The home is immaculate, the beds and the furniture extremely comfortable and the house is very well equipped. The porches are perfect for morning coffee, afternoon or evening cocktails or just relaxing the day away! If you or your children or grandchildren are more adventurous, there are numerous games and activities to enjoy. Our grandchildren especially loved the boats, fishing ( a perfect place to take kids fishing as they always catch fish) and playing basketball. Maureen and Jim are the perfect hosts and are continually adding improvements to this gorgeous property. They go above and beyond to make certain their guests have everything they need for an enjoyable stay! We had an amazing stay at Ray’s Rustic Retreat! The house itself was very, very clean and comfortable! It had everything you would need, plus so many extras! And the property is so peaceful and private. The pictures can’t even do it justice! Our boys loved fishing in the pond - they caught so many fish! We spent so much time playing outside and enjoying time with family. It was a very memorable vacation, and we would love to come back & stay again in the future!

We came here last year and the peace, quiet and beauty are so healing. We just relaxed. I brought my scrapbooking stuff, we slept in, watched movies and were lazy. My husband was in between 2 surgeries and it was the perfect place to get away and be quiet for a few days.

Like some of the other reviewers indicate, this place is just absolutely perfect. Maureen and Jim have obviously thought of everything to make everyone comfortable. Not only is the fire pit perfectly placed, but they also think of the little things like providing a starter kit for s'mores and supplying enough wood for our first campfire. They even had kindling, a lighter and the little wood chip covered wax balls used to start the fire. As soon as we arrived, there was an incredible sense of calm about the whole place, and we were immediately able to relax. So many places look nice, but the beds are not comfortable. Not here! The beds were VERY comfortable! This makes a huge difference when renting for more than a couple of nights. We certainly plan to book this place for future stays for whenever we visit central NY. Thanks again to Maureen and Jim for setting the example on what a Premier Host looks like!

This is a beautiful home and property just off Rt. 20 in CNY about 20 minutes from Colgate University. Our kids really enjoyed the lake, basketball court, rolling lawn and fields, and fire pit. Inside you'll find everything you need and more to complete your stay. Only downside... no pets. Other than that, this is one of the best properties we've ever rented. Enjoy!

This property was just too good to be true. It was like 10 stars. Anything you could possibly need while away from home was provided. The house and property were just stunning. The hosts must be special folks to share this lovely home and setting with others.

In a nutshell, our visit to this property was perfect in every respect! The setting is even more beautiful than the listing suggests. The house was absolutely spotless and had every amenity that we wanted. The owner was very accommodating and responsive. Looking forward to visiting again!
