Amazing situation with so much to do. Wish we had more time to explore the walks. An artist's paradise The food was excellent. Service was excellent also.
I wasn't too keen on driving to it as the road was very narrow. But that is the only downside

The nature surrounding the pension is beautiful.
The room is clean and comfortable, the terrace is nice too, although I think it's shared.
For the amount of money we paid, we would expect something more. The bathroom was very small for 90€ per night.
You need 100% need a car to get there, it's very secluded.

Well I had a lot of fun with the ants in my room.

Nice place, in the middle of the forest. The staff kind, the restaurant very good and the beer as well.
The room clean and the furnitures are stylish.
I have upgraded our room to a room with balcony, but the view was the dark forest...lol

nice location in nature in the outskirts of Passau, less convenient when not traveling by car. Very good breakfast, nice people. Room was very spacious. Very good communication before arrival, make sure you read it.
everything was fine. Rooms have been updated but the barhroom was a bit oldfashioned. However it was very clean so no complaints!

location, location, location. Not much more.
Staff was grumpy. Breakfast: laughable. Half a buffet, but rolls and coffee were pre-counted. You had to sit at the table number corresponding to your room number. Fawlty Towers revisited.

A gem hidden in the forest.

Beautiful location, fresh air, nice breakfast.
The bin wasn't good work condition, no plastic bag, not enough shower gel, the towels didn't look well.

The location is fantastic, in the midst of Nature. All the staff were very friendly and professional. Claus the owner is simply awesome and prepared a very special fresh Forelle fish for me with butter and garlic, it was really "lecker".

Location is amazingly nice and in heart of nature. Rooms were very nice and clean. Stuff is amazing, we arrived very late and no problem with Arrival.

The hotel is located in the middle of the forest in a very beatiful environment. We had nice walks around in the evening and in the morning, too. Although the hotel informed us that there is "Ruhetag" rest day on Mondays and Tuesdays, meaning everything was closed, we were pleasantly surprized that we could have a warm dinner at the hotel restaurant on Tuesday evening. A close drive to Passau. We would like to go back and spend a few days in the surroundings.
It would have been nice to have the terrace restaurant open. On the positive side, the property made its best to inform and warn us that they will be closed these two days, on Monday and Tuesday, se we knew what to expect.

Location is pretty. We've been before and that's why we came back.
We stayed here in 2018 and 2019 and liked the place. Whilst a modest guesthouse, it was in beautiful surroundings with good wholesome food and basic service. Nobody spoke English before which made it a bit difficult.
This time and after covid we were so looking forward to staying here again on our way to Hungary as we did before.
What a huge disappointment!!
The room we booked was the price range of the ones on previous visits. This time we were given a room in the newly fitted attic/loft rooms with one 40x80cm velux window which couldn't be opened. No mosquito nets, so we had hundreds of insects flying in in the matter of 5 mins or less whilst we propped the window open with a folded blanket to get some fresh air as the loft room way unbearably hot. The fan provided did nothing but circulate the hot air and it was so noisy that we couldn't sleep at all. So in summary the room isn't FIT FOR PURPOSE for any money let alone for Euro 85 a night without breakfast!
We complained as we had hundreds of insects crawling all over us at bed time and we were told that the place is in the woods so we have to expect that 😡?!
We were then told we should not open the window 😲 , really? It WAS IMPOSSIBLE to sleep and we were given a bottle of insects repellant spray which killed the hundreds of creatures (photos attached) but left the room full of the spray and with no possibility of an open window, we had to try to sleep with the harmful spray in the air in an unimaginably hot and airless room. SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE! Fit mosquito nets and fix the windows so they can be left open - not difficult to come to this conclusion!!
The breakfast was also a huge let down as the quality changed drastically since our last visits.
No cereal, no yogurt, no toast, poor selection of cold meat, and two rolls each already on the table without cover. No choice just like it or lump it.
We'll never return.

Gorgeous surrounding.
Comfortable room.
Nice food in the restaurant.
Tip: on the road to the hotel, don’t take the very sharp turn to the left, but take a U-turn 50 meters further.
The bathroom is too small.
Breakfast was very cheap but there was a limited amount of sandwiches. Boiled eggs and fruit juice were not replenished during our breakfast.
