It was clean and the breakfast was great. It is near a square with some restaurants and the entranceway is on a small canal which was pretty. It has a lift and an air conditioner. The staff were accommodating and our bags were carried to our room for us which was a blessing.

It is a very long way from the train station and apparently the booking.com gps coordinates are incorrect meaning we walked (yes!) for an hour and 10 mins over cobblestones and bridges with steps and crowds of people, and down a million alleyways with very heavy luggage till we arrived. Yes, our mistake for not checking out a possible water access but if it is known the address is wrong in booking.com why not have that corrected?? Also, the toilet seat was broken and the air-con was terribly noisy.

Staff all very nice! Fairly central location although a trek from any waterbus stops which makes getting there with any cases difficult.

We arrived to be told we had been upgraded and room would be in their sister building which was a little puzzling - about a 2 min walk away. We arrived to our room which was stationed directly opening into the breakfast area which was a bit odd. We experienced no noise at breakfast however as hotel guests thankfully all very quiet. Our room had only one mirror and no lamps on bedside tables which wasn’t great. A very sad sofa was in the corner. Quite old fashioned decor! No tv in room. HUGE room key which can be left at reception desk but we often turned up and nobody would be there so we just started bringing it with us. Definitely not a 4 star experience as breakfast was also a little sad. No hot water for tea and fairly limited selection. All fruit salad came from tins. Lovely staff however but very expensive for the actual experience. We were comfortable and managed ok but a bit miffed to have paid so much for essentially a 3 star hotel, at 4 star prices.
