Theoxenia House Hotel

The property is located in a really great neighborhood and our family of four only stay here when we visit Athens (and I have family that live in Glyfada!). The rooms at House are a bit older but they are so spacious and have everything you need. We like to book either a suite or two separate rooms and it’s still a great value. The staff is always extremely friendly and very responsive if you need anything. It’s a short walk to Theoxenia Palace where you have full access to the swimming pool and gym. Shoutout to Yianni at the pool, always making tasty drinks and taking wonderful care of us. There is always parking on the street. They have a garage but it’s just easier on the street, the neighborhood is quite posh so nothing to worry about. Thera is great shopping about 10 minute walk from the property. You have to drive to see any sights but we prefer that over staying in downtown Athens where it tends to be very loud and touristy. We highly recommend if you want a wonderful stay a little outside the city center with lots of wonderful restaurants and shopping nearby.

I had issues one night with the mattress, it was a bit stiff and was hurting my back. The next day housekeeping fixed it with a plush mattress topper and I slept great after that.

Honestly , I didn’t like that there was no coffee machine in the room , and when I asked why , I was told “we don’t know why , but there is no coffee machine in all the hotel buildings “ , as a coffee person , I had to wait 15 mins (minimum) or half hour sometimes , for first coffee to come in the morning (even if it was free, only in the morning ,breakfast time is free, )but still , in my opinion , a coffee machine must exist in every hotel room , no guest should wait (morning or night ) a half hour , just to have a black coffee .
