Hotel Ipekyolu

It's such a great spot close to the Bosphorous down the hill from the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. Away from the cruise ship port and super touristed area immediately to the west. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast every morning with a little variation. I recommend and would stay there again.

There's a construction site next door but it's not their fault. The location and friendly staff wins over that anyway - I was out looking at remnants of Constantinople and the living places of Istanbul.

It was in an excellent location, all of the staff from reception to breakfast, were very helpful. Good room, shower and comfy bed 🙌

Staff, elevator and location were the highlights. Also, as a woman traveling solo, I felt very safe. The breakfast was good, also, and the room was quiet with a comfortable bed.

Unremediated mold exposure in the shower, and cleanliness was so-so. The room was cleaned well on a daily basis, but there were stains on one of the walls that were old and gross. The furniture was rather shabby, and a badly frayed cord on the hair dryer attached to the bathroom wall looked to be a catastrophe waiting to happen; hotel staff was advised of it upon my departure. Overall, I would have liked it more if the owner had put some effort into a deep-cleaning of the room and some updates to the furniture and the rest of the interior.
