Forever in my heart. In front of the structure, plenty of animals. The structure is retrò, but incredibly beautiful. Restaurant is very good.
The best part is the staff: they are so kind and professionals. During our stay, the hotel was making some maintenance: to apologize for the disturb, they offered us snacks.

We stayed three days so the modified the breakfast menu for us. The older staff were very experienced, the younger staff friendly and eager learniners. Really close to a great hiking trail along the lake.
The position the ceiling lights in the room made it hard for one person to sleep and the other read.

The onsite onsen and the food was pretty good
The communication was pretty poor prior to arrival

excellent breakfast; nice onsen
decor is dated and shabby; far from major sights, with few shuttles; bathrooms are poorly lit, no shower head, just a hand held wand
