Kitchen and lounge facilities excellent. Staff very very helpful. Shower exceptional.
Twin room dated, carpet didnt meet walls.
Matresses were very uncomfortable, sadly.

We like the location, the hostel was located on a hill overlooking Pitlochry with a beautiful view. Facilities was well kept, the kitchen and pantry was neat and clean. There's a lot of info for travellers provided too.

Superb hostel in beautiful position overlooking the lovely town . Easy to walk from / to station , town , the loch , the Dam , Festival Theatre & Explorers gardens !
Complimentary tea, coffee, herbal teas & hot chocolate all very welcome to accompany breakfast !
Staff on duty were welcoming, friendly , helpful & very accommodating regarding leaving our heavy bags until we caught our train 😊👍
Also met some other friendly travellers from Denmark & Ireland !🥰
Only thing for us would have been to have check out at 10.30 as we like to have a leisurely breakfast & are not always early risers !
Sad that we could only stay one night ….will definitely book for 2 or more next time !

The location is ideal, a short walk into the village and there is parking on site. Bit of a walk uphill if you are less capable or just tired after a long day! That being said, you get a super view from the hostel and if its nice, you can sit outside.
Generally really old fashioned and needing an upgrade, especially the bathrooms. Cracks in the tiles, a rusty nail in the floor as a doorstop (?) and although we upgraded to ensuite, it was right next to the communal bathroom (toilet?) where we could hear people using it.
Outdoor seating could be expanded, only two picnic tables which were mostly used all the time by groups. Nice wooden bench at side, but with that view on a sunny day it would be fantastic to have more seating.

"Se cercate un albergo stellato l'ostello non fa di certo per voi. Camera semplice, abbastanza pulita, minimal nell'arredo ma non ci aspettavamo di più. Ripeto, gli ostelli vanno vissuti per quello che..."
