Spoon and the Stars Hostel

Good location, can easily walk into the centre in 10 minutes. Breakfast was great! The room was clean and comfortable. Organised a late check out which was really handy!

The shower stopped working in the room but we were able to use the communal showers. Definitely make sure you remember the door code, the staff should have made it more clear no one will be in late if you forget, thankfully we had friends also staying who let us in or we would have been stranded!

The free breakfast and the outdoor/indoor chill areas

A couple of times I went to the toilet or showers in the morning but couldn't use them because they were cleaning them. In my opinion morning is not the time to do that when everyone needs the bathrooms. Also our room had a normal key lock and not a code pad like the others, and we had only one key for 2 guests which made no sense. We also got locked out one because the lock on the inside was old and somehow clicked into locked position on its own. And it was very difficult for staff to get in touch with the owner or locate a spare key.

A short walk into town, there is access to a kitchen, outdoor seating area, and a cave like sitting room, cold breakfast available, funky charm.

I thought it was walking distance to the train station, it was not. We could not get the shower to work without scalding water. Young crowd. We heard there is a great pub across the street after we left, wish we had more help with what was in the area. Room to store luggage very limited.

Very good value for cost

Butter ran out, and toilet roll- not ver accessable at all.
