I love the good vibrations Mae! The colorful murals, the very comfy bed, and the new pool/ deck area. I especially loved the dehumidifiers in the room! More hotels should do that here. Food was amazing as always. I especially loved your Sopa de Mariscos. And lastly.... Carlos the bartender is a gem <3.
The internet at la playa never seems to work well. (I live in san Isidro and it works great at my house. Fiber optics baby!) Anyhow, it's likely the same in the entire area... but as a digital nomad it can be difficult. We are poor teachers and must work while we travel. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a wifi connection to grade school papers. bummer. The Congos make up for it though. They said we humans should work less anyhow. ;-)

Really quaint place-loved the little murals all over the property & It was cuter that the photos and the pool area was very relaxing. The staff was very nice and the restaurant/bar had pretty decent food & cocktails. Monkeys in trees, short walk down to beach
Beds could have been softer but were comfortable enough. The bar/restaurant had music playing which was nice but would have liked if the music was turned off or down to lower volume earlier in the evening

Nice sized spacious rooms and air conditioning, tucked in nature and we saw howler monkeys daily which was cool. The pool was small but a nice size to cool off and keep the kids entertained.
Road noise is quite loud and starts very early. When it’s not the cars and motorcycles flying by, it’s the howler monkeys very loud (SO cool during the day, not so great for sleep time), and if you are on the bottom floor, the sound from rooms above are very loud. We had people above us walking around their room late at night and very early morning. We just couldn’t get good rest here between all of these factors.
The hotel is also quite far from the majority of restaurants so a car or taxi is a must - the sides of the road were not safe for walking given all the turns in the road and speeding traffic.
Our booking said breakfast was included and it apparently is not. The restaurant at the hotel is overpriced and not very good food.
Hot water showers would have been nicer if it was not just the exposed wiring methods (common in Costa Rica, but I still would prefer not to have this).
